PSRC Armenia 25th Anniversary

On May 2, the Public Services Regulatory Commission (PSRC) of the Republic of Armenia celebrated the 25th anniversary of its establishment.

On May 2, the Public Services Regulatory Commission (PSRC) of the Republic of Armenia celebrated the 25th anniversary of its establishment.

The ceremony was attended by RA Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan, NA Deputy Speaker Hakob Arshakyan, US Deputy Ambassador William Leitinen, Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Gnel Sanosyan, Garegin Baghramyan, Chairman of the Services Regulatory Commission, and David Narmania, Chairman of the Georgian National Regulatory Authority.

The event was attended by representatives of government agencies, the National Assembly, the US Embassy in Armenia, international organizations, foreign partner organizations, regulated sectors, and NGOs. The National Association of US Public Services Regulatory Commission members welcomed the commission with a video message.

In his opening remarks, Deputy Prime Minister Grigoryan congratulated the Commission, noting that the regulation of public services is of great socio-economic importance. The activities of the commission are related to every citizen of the country, every business, as well as the interests of the state. The goal of state regulation in this area of ​​relations is the best skilful balancing of the mentioned interests.

In his congratulatory speech, the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Hakob Arshakyan emphasized the important role of the commission in the development of the state, which, in fact, plays a regulating role in the society, business “between the Government”.

The Chairman of the Commission Garegin Baghramyan thanked those present for participating in the jubilee event of the Commission, noting that from the very first day of its establishment the Commission directed all its potential to the identification of the main priorities of the sphere and then to their comprehensive life. As a result of legal activities, regulations were adopted aimed at ensuring the energy security of the republic, promoting the efficient use of local energy resources, renewable energy sources, and guaranteeing the reliable and safe supply of electricity, heat, and natural gas to consumers, creating a favourable investment environment.

Then the member of the commission Seda Shahinyan presented the further steps of the commission.
